It boasts of a simple and easy to use interface and makes for instant communication capabilities at little or no cost which makes it one of the more popular messaging apps in the market. Whereas most people know that you can only run one WhatsApp account on one phone, it is possible to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single phone. There are a number of ways to making this a reality and below we shall have a look at some of the solutions.
Methods to Run Multiple WhatsApp Accounts on Android

•Method 1 – With the help of Multi-User.
In case you have an Android phone, you can make use of the Multi-User feature to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on your phone. This feature is present in the Android Lollipop Operating System inclusive of Cyanogen OS.
Follow the following steps to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on your Android:
•First off, you will need to add Multi-User in your Android lollipop-based smartphone. In order to do this, you will need to head to settings and select Users. You will then need to select ‘Add User’.
•After the new user has been created, you will need to provide all details necessary in the setup of the new user account.
•You will then need to switch to the New User. In order t do this, you will have to pull down the notification bar and click on the New User icon.
•When the New User account has been activated, you will be provided with a new phone interface complete with default phone settings
•Next, you will need to install WhatsApp in the New User Mode.
•With the WhatsApp download complete, you will need to enter all the necessary details and you will be on your way to having an additional WhatsApp account on your phone.
Method 2: Make use of SwitchMe
The second method to help run multiple WhatsApp accounts on your phone is to utilize SwitchMe. SwitchMe is an Android app that makes it possible for you to run two separate WhatsApp accounts on your phone. Unlike the first method above though, your smartphone will have to be rooted if you wish to use this method.
With this method, it will not be possible to access other WhatsApp profiles on the current profile since each account does come with its own settings, data and application.
Use the following steps to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on your phone with SwitchMe:
•First, you will have to root your smartphone
•You need to ensure that the WhatsApp app is installed on your Android device
•Next, you will need to install SwitchMe Multiple accounts on your Android phone
•You will then need to run the SwitchMe Multiple accounts. When asked for Super user request, you will need to grant the request in order to proceed.
•Next, you will need to create a user profile with your name in the SwitchMe app. The profile that you create will have all the current apps and settings and will be a reflection of the WhatsApp profile that is already running on your phone.
•You will then need to create another profile with another name. in order to do this, you will have to tap on the Create Profile button in the SwitchMe app
•Your Android device will restart automatically and when it is ready to use, you will have to install the official WhatsApp app and proceed to register it using a different phone number. With the SwitchMe free version method, you get to enjoy two WhatsApp accounts on your smartphone. If you wish to run multiple WhatsApp accounts on the other hand, then you need to use the paid SwitchMe version.
Method 3: Make use of OG WhatsApp
With the OG WhatsApp app, you get to use two separate WhatsApp account on a single Android smartphone. With this method, you don’t need to root your Android phone.
Follow the steps below if you wish to run a different WhatsApp account on your phone:
•You will need to back up your WhatsApp data and restore it
•Next, you will need to head onto Settings and delete all Whatspp data. You will need to go to Settings-app-WhatsApp-Clear Data in order to clear all the data
•You wil then have to rename the /sdcard/WhatsAp directory. You will have to rename it as /sdcard/OGWhatsApp with the help of any file manager for Android. You can also do this from Windows.
•Once done, you will have to uninstall the original WhatsApp that was running on your smartphone
•Next, you will have to install OGWhatsAppon your smartphone
•Once you have finished installing, you will need to verify the old phone number that you originary used in stalling the original WhatsApp app
•Next, you will have to re-install the official WhatsApp app.
Unfortunately, the OG WhatsApp application is not available at the moment which means that you will have to use one of the first two methods mentioned above.
